11 Affirmations For Writers
(For the full experience with formatting and photographs and lovingly created assets, head on over to https://marinainthemeadow.substack.com/ — it looks much better on Substack! Plus, this post has an audio component so you can sit and listen while you conjure your affirmations.)
Writing is hard, a solitary sport. The work, it’s all up to us. We have to show up, we have to try to believe in ourselves. Sometimes it is easier than others to stand by our convictions as writers.
I’ve created 11 affirmations that help me get through the toughest days. I hope you find solace in at least one of them.
Don’t forget to breath as you move through these. Get comfy, breathe in, exhale, and visualize what it feels like to be in a place of lightness and joy. Feel the hum of the affirmations you choose to embrace. Sit with each one for a while, feel the beat of your own heart. Say them out loud, write them down, whatever feels right to you. Root deep in what each of these affirmations mean to you and to you alone.
And remember take what serves you and let the rest go.
I am a talented writer.
My words matter. What I create holds deep meaning for me and for others.
Judgment of others will not inform my creative decisions. I release negative self-talk.
I trust my process.
I am full of stories waiting to be written.
I am following my dreams. And I deserve to follow my dreams.
I am a capable creator.
Every time I write, I learn something new. My journey as a creator is ever-flowing.
I love my writing. (You can do this one, wild one. I believe in you. Say it out loud—like Bella—and believe it.)
I embrace inspiration.
The writer I want to be, is already in me.
Don’t forget to thank yourself for showing up and believing in yourself.
Sending you much love & light,
Marina xx
